TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- Dustin McGowan's bid to join the Toronto Blue Jays' crowded pitching staff did not go well.
McGowan was hammered for seven runs in one-plus innings as the Blue Jays dropped an 11-8 Grapefruit League decision to the New York Yankees.
After missing over a year rehabbing from elbow surgery, the 23-year-old McGowan made 13 appearances - including seven starts for Toronto - last season, but his spot could be in jeopardy with the high-profile signings of starter A.J. Burnett and closer B.J. Ryan.
McGowan allowed two runs in the first before facing five batters in the second without recording an out in the second. Robinson Cano highlighted the six-run frame with a two-run homer off McGowan.
Yankees starter Chien-Ming Wang was not much better, yielding three runs and six hits in two innings. Aaron Small, who has an outside chance of earning a spot in the rotation, surrendered four runs - one earned - and four hits in two innings.
Troy Glaus and Eric Hinske each hit two-run homers off Wang for Toronto.
好像投的不是很好才两局被打出三只安打三个自则分. 可是洋基队还是以 11-8 赢了这场热身赛.
