深擊太空船延伸任務EPOXI拍攝的影像發現：哈德利2號彗星（103P/Hartley 2）一如預期般非常活躍，並從這些影像計算出彗核的自轉週期
目前太空船即將接近彗星，預定將在臺北時間11月4日晚上23:00左右（美國東岸時間EDT 11/4/10:00a.m.）以每秒12.3公里的速度飛掠彗核，屆時距離彗核將僅700公里
