NTSC (National Television Standards Committee)
在1950年由美國提出並訂定的電視視訊規格系統，主要採用區域為北美、日本、部分南非洲地區以及台灣，規格為：525 horizontal lines (Only 487 lines are used for picture)， 60 fields per second(30frames，2 fields Interlace=1frame)。

PAL (Phase Alternating Line)系統
由德國發展，主要採用區域為歐洲、中國大陸、非洲、馬來西亞、澳洲、紐西蘭、中亞地區，規格為：625 horizontal lines(Only 576 lines are used for picture)，50 fields (25 frames) per second。
